Our Story began when a mother and daughter unexpectedly joined to revitalize a vision, to continue a journey they’d started many moons ago… with the Calypso brand which Michelle created in the early 90’s…?

Inspired by travel and far off places, simple treasures and experiences and passion… alongside fond childhood memories from both generations…

Calypso embraces a sense of nostalgia, individuality, beauty and freedom that totally compliments and celebrates the Female Spirit…

It’s that energized, vibrant and expressive part of you that emerges on a weekend away, a vacation, or mid strut at an impromptu festival, or simply at another usually mundane day at the office…

We hope that wearing Calypso ignites that Passion, Vibrance and Spirit to life, no matter where you are…

All our Calypso Collections are proudly designed, created and sampled in the tree lined Hillcrest area of Durban – South Africa and produced ethically in various small local female initiated manufacturing entities across our beautiful province.

We have partnered with female artisans who have spent their entire lives mastering their artisan work with both passion, care and dedication…and developing true, loyal and personal relationships along the way…
